09:21 PMPosted by That's how the Alliance sees the ENTIRE HORDE. That's how the horde see's the ENTIRE ALLIANCE. The worst part of the faction war is how Blizzard treats the factions as monoliths. A blood elf should have a different view on things than an orc would. This blue blob vs. Red blob thing is dumb and boring.
I agree, even. Hack facebook account for free. That said, you get that in, say, the USA. Not everyone is for, or against, certain wars we've engaged in. The reality tends to be that those in charge declare a war, and the rest of us get dragged along.
So while I'd like to see Blood Elves, Tauren, Etc, having their own opinion, I don't think it would change much. If the Blood Elves *don't* support a war effort, they're out of the horde because that's just how that goes. If the Night Elves decided against joining the war, they're no longer part of the Alliance. Anduin would almost certainly deprive them of Alliance support, in response.
I'm sure the various races have their own opinions, but once you join a government system, you either follow it, or leave. 08:53 PMPosted by The whole thing in Legion I feel could be solved with a simple conversation, and a lot of situations could just be avoided but aren't for the sake of forcing a conflict story that people don't want.
With SI:7 feeding the alliance fake information thanks to the Legion, and with Genns attack on Sylvanas, we've moved past the point of simple conversation. These two factions have never liked each other, we no longer have a immediate threat to distract us from our hatreds. Hate doesn't just go away.
08:53 PMPosted by In the recent interview with Finalboss Ion and Alex said that the faction divide is what makes Warcraft 'Warcraft', and that it was here to stay. Speaking from a purely anecdotal standpoint, I feel as though everyone believes the conflict between the Horde and Alliance feels incredibly forced and played out. I personally love the faction conflict, and I was upset that there wasn't more of it in Legion, given what we saw in Stormheim. I'm excited for what's to come, and I can't wait to be a soldier on the front lines again, fighting for the Horde, rather than this peace and love crap.
09:34 PMPosted by Well think of it from a standpoint of anduin: father killed by horde( a whole other topic can be here, but the alliance thinks they did kill varian). Genn lost his city and his son. Jaina lost everybody she loved. And now, they are all leaders of the alliance.
That's just the thing though, the characters are throwing all sense out the window in order to bring about the faction war. The horde, as you pointed out, had a good reason for bailing at the broken shore, so a simple 'hey what was that about?' Would have resolved that for Anduin. And Jaina lost everything to Garrosh, who has been brought to justice already.
Instead, she seems to be blaming the horde as a whole because!@#$ logic. Genn is the only one acting within his character, but if the other two would just act like their established characters, that would make him a 1/3 influence in the decisions of the alliance as a whole. Not to mention all the non warchief horde leaders who, when given the spotlight, have always been portrayed as honorable, level headed folks (with some exceptions, like Gallywix). 08:53 PMPosted by In the recent interview with Finalboss Ion and Alex said that the faction divide is what makes Warcraft 'Warcraft', and that it was here to stay. These are just my opinions, and I wanted to get other people's thoughts.Dude, the Horde and the Alliance have a lot of conflict, and History fighting each other. You just don't walk away from old/new wounds and skip along like nothing ever happened between the two. There is a deep hatred among both faction and its going to take a long time for that stuff to heal if it ever does, especially if new conflicts between the two keep happening. I don't think it would be normal, nor realistic for the two to just drop the hatred for one another.
