Lllab: they are a bit hard to reach (is one guy from south America), but i use the plugin and even it is not fuly ready and not supporting all i would not want to miss it, i used if many times a week. I hope they get enough sales so they can finalize all features Really sorry to say this Stefan, but this attitude is completely wrong. Surely he should have ensured that he promised less but delivered on that lesser feature set well when he started selling his plugin. You can’t blame lack of sales for a plugin not functioning as advertised. The first rule of marketing your goods and services is to manage your customers expectations. Its a chicken vs egg dilemma. How much time do you spend developing something? At some point you have to release and try the water. If it doesn’t float from the start, the chances of a dev simply losing interest, and that boat sinking are very high. With high development costs + low sales, don’t be surprised if the first release, is the last release. Casper 1995 torrent french 2016 torrent 2016.

Not everyone can afford to fail and try again. There are so many people releasing scripts and presets, that many users have forgotten that real software is hard to make.

There are also fundamental mistakes that many new devs make, such as thinking that price must be low, or promising eternal updates for free( Which is a sure fire way to go bust) and virtually guarantees NO further development, and with that, no further support (that will leave your emails unanswered) This sort of thing is a great argument for some kind of quality control standard for plugins, scripts and presets packages. Somewhat how Apple proof new apps. Devs would then only get a proper release ID number and rating, once someone has categorized, proofed and rated a plugin or resource. There should at some point be a system to filter out the crap before it ever goes to market. A plugin like MaxToC4D would benefit from that, as they would have goals and standards to reach for, before going live, rather than not know what is acceptable. This is not my plugin, but i have to defend it a bit. I only say my opinion,i love it and find its price 10x worth for what it does.

It imports models flawless at one click from max to c4d,with correct uvs and materials assigned with textures kept, also for vray materials. More i dont need more for this price. Many times faster and easier than via fbx or okino (what i used before). What it doesnt yet is bring in the camera correct or lights, probablyalso no animation, and of course the materials you will want to tune.but i guess for that features it will need a quite higher price tag then. Each plugin developer needs funds to develop a plugin further. Thats why i say i hope he sells enough so he will not discontinue it. This plugin is essential to me already and i hope it keeps existing/developing for future Stefan.

Hi Guys, I’ve very recently started working on MaxToC4D as developer of the Cinema4D side of it, taking over from the work done initially by the original developer. What i would like to say is: The initial released version of this was indeed quite a core skeletal version both to gauge interest in the plugin and also lay some of the groundwork for future development. Since joining, i have did a lot more groundwork on the plugin and worked hard to ensure that this next version ( due out very very soon ) is padded out with much better conversion particularly with scene transfer from 3DSMax Vray to C4D Vray. There is still ground to cover, and we are adding things as we go, but we now have a pretty decent system in place for converting scenes with like-for-like lighting, cameras, materials and renders as much as possible. As always there are always more things to add but we are positive that MaxToC4D can only grow and continue to get better There are a number of other features besides just core rendering and ‘look’ conversion which we are already starting to implement for the next version, many of which from feedback received from customers who’d like the plugin to do more - transfer of max layers, groups, character setups and IK etc, and much more.

Initial development of the plugin i think has been a balance between dev cost and returns ( as TaPaul says a chicken and egg situation ) but i think from here MaxToC4D can only grow and get better, as much of the foundation work has now been put in place. Anyway - any questions, requests or feedback are welcome - i’ve showed this thread to Marcelo and i think he will be along to share his thoughts and also to soon announce the release of the next version.
