Originally posted by Eric J Sawyer I think it should be the other way around. Why can't the sequencer producers write the.ins files.

It stands to reason that if they want M3 (or whatever other synth) users to use their sequencers, then they should write the files. I've never really understood this reluctance. Yes.You are also right! But every time a new synth or module is released the seq.pros. May not have access to all of them to look into all the combis and programs. But the hardware makers can easily make the ins.files and give along with the cd.Everyone nowadays give a usb driver, some give an editor.I thought it would be easy for the hardware makers as they will be having the hardware with them and they only create the combis and programs.

When I first bought my Korg X-50 I was very disappointed to find out that there were no instrument definition files available to use within my Cakewalk Sonar recording software. I searched all over the Internet and could find nothing. Finally, a most excellent member of the Cakewalk Sonar Forum put an instrument definition file together and emailed it to me! Thanks so much!!! So that you don’t have to go through the same heart-breaking experience that I did, I have included a link for downloading that very file below. Just copy and paste into Notepad or similar program and make sure you name it with a.ins extension and then tell Sonar to look for and install the file.
